Our Strategy
-
Vision & Approach
• The Building Unity Slate will rebuild the Allegiant pilots’ union “De Novo” — from the ground up — to restore trust, transparency, and unity after trusteeship.
• Your Union will be responsive to your needs.
• Leadership sees their role as a duty to pilots, not a career move, focused on fairness and professionalism.
-
Contract Negotiations
• Launch an education and survey campaign so pilots understand open issues and can guide the NC’s decisions based on collective feedback.
• With survey results, conduct a full review of the Negotiating Committee’s (NC) progress to decide whether to maintain or revise current strategy.
• Commit to achieving an industry-standard contract that protects all pilots — will not agree to provisions that would cause furloughs or downgrades.
• Support the NC with necessary resources to finish negotiations.
-
Infrastructure & Operations
• Rebuild the local union structure to be responsive, sustainable, and modernized.
• Invest in technology and communication systems to keep members informed and connected.
• Reassess staffing and restructure as needed for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Strengthen the committee system for professionalism, accountability, and responsiveness.
-
Committees & Training
• Work with current committee chairs / or appoint new chairs as needed to rebuild all committees from scratch (“De Novo”), with each executive board member overseeing 3–4 committees.
• Each committee will have clear mandates and policies in written form.
• Hold biweekly accountability calls and set clear expectations.
• Implement training and onboarding for all volunteers; provide budgets for continuing education and best practices.
• Participate in joint training sessions with other airline unions.
• Encourage pilot participation — “It’s your union; we can’t build it alone.”
New Committees & Initiatives:
• Internal Training Committee: Develop structured, consistent training programs using Teamsters International and inter-union partnerships.
• Strategic Preparedness Committee → Family Awareness Committee: After contract ratification, shift focus to pilot and family unity through base events and community activities.
• Future Negotiating Committee: Prepare early for the next contract cycle by recruiting qualified pilots, offering negotiation training, and maintaining continuous industry awareness.
-
Communications, Education & Engagement
• Relaunch the Education Committee to teach members about union history, structure, and the Railway Labor Act.
• Improve transparency and engagement through modernized systems — updated software, a better website, and effective virtual town halls.
• Prioritize open, consistent communication and member involvement at all levels.
Overall Goal
To build a modern, united, informed, and empowered pilot union—grounded in fairness, professionalism, and proactive leadership—ensuring every Allegiant pilot has a strong voice and a secure future.
